CAUSE: Satisfy Food Rescue

CAUSE: Satisfy Food Rescue

This month we are super excited to have launched another design from our very talented in-house super star, Hannah Batty. This work is entitled 'Kete', the Maori word for a traditional basket typically woven from flax.  'Kete'is about abundance; a complex map of networking connections which is perfectly suited to the charity we have paired it with.

Hannah's artwork is the second of our CAUSE RANGE which raises money and awareness for specifically chosen Causes/Charities or Foundations and we are happy to be giving a donation from every sale of this t-shirt artwork to  'Satisfy Food Rescue'. This awesome, Kaiapoi based charity does the much needed work of redistributing food waste. In working with local food retailers and charities to re-direct surplus perishable foods, Satisfy Food Rescue saves excessive amounts of food going into the landfill whilst giving it freely to those who need it most. We think that this is a pretty damn worthy cause to be supporting, don't you?

We're excited to see how much we can do for this cause. Want to help? Purchase Hannah's 'Kete' tee (fair trade, organic cotton printed in our garage as per usual) or donate to Satisfy Food Rescue here.

More on Hannah? She has a black belt in Kung Fu, likes Cocao/Peanut butter Tom & Luke's Snackaballs, green tea and walking in the outdoors. Her artwork involves methodically and obsessively producing geometric forms through drawing (as evident in 'Kete') and, more recently, routing three-dimensional forms. Aaaand, she's our Assistant Manager, whom we love and adore.
