Although The Paper Rain Project is a relatively homegrown business, centring around our HQ in Marlborough, it has grown to become a platform for many artists, creators and makers worldwide. Our team is made up of co-founders, Indigo Greenlaw & Wills Rowe with our assisting team, Ailie Suzuki and James Heslop.

We love collaboration and working with like-minded people. We currently work with 30 artists across the globe as well as incredible ethical suppliers in India, Nepal and right here in New Zealand. We run our business with the two co-founders, Indigo & Wills, as well as a couple of seasonal part-time staff.

We are stoked to introduce you to our small group of enthusiastic crew:

Indigo Greenlaw of The Paper Rain ProjectINDIGO GREENLAW ~ GENERAL MANAGER, MARKETING & DESIGNER

Co-founder of The Paper Rain Project, Indigo spends most of her hours on the design, marketing, visual merchandising and communications for the business. She is super passionate about the project, art, ethics and the people our business gets to work with. Indigo grew up between the North-West of Scotland and Picton before studying and travelling (which she continues to do whenever money or time allows!) She is a lover of hot drinks, adventures, hiking, popcorn, the outdoors, yoga and music.

Wills Rowe of The Paper Rain ProjectWILLS ROWE ~ WORKSHOP MANAGER & PRODUCT DESIGNER

Co-founder of The Paper Rain Project, Wills spends most of his time in the workshop shaping our decks, laser etching longboards and hand-printing our fair trade, organic t-shirts. An ex-arborist and massage therapist, Wills is a big fan of learning new crafts and building the furniture for our store fit-outs. Wills grew up on the cherry orchard in Spring Creek, Marlborough on which our workshop is based. Wills' hobbies include potato eating, rock climbing, learning, moustache twiddling, politics and permaculture.

Ailie Suzuki of The Paper Rain ProjectAILIE SUZUKI ~ SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER

Introducing the exceptional Ailie Suzuki: this lady is a conservation warrior, a zoologist and nature guide in the “Real World”. We stole her. Now, Ailie is our "Store Over-Lord". She is helping out with all sorts of things including blogs, cause info, customer service, seasonal staff management, wholesale and (more) creative ideas. She’s a gem and we’re so happy to have her (although we share her with DOC, the Kiwis for Kiwi initiative and her new-born son, Kai. Side note: Ailie, being half Japanese and extra enthusiastic, makes kick-ass dumplings and has a raft of experience in just about anything. It'd be safe to say that she's a super asset.

Tanya Jones of The Paper Rain ProjectTANYA JONES ~ CUSTOMER SERVICE & SALES

The lovely Tanya grew up in Sussex in England and is currently living here in Picton, New Zealand. Drawn by the blue oceans and many dolphins Marlborough can offer, Tan's background and passion lies in nature and conservation guiding. Brilliant with people from all walks of life, we are lucky enough to have her in our Picton Store for the Summer of 19/20.  (Psst... if her face looks familiar it's possibly because she's also been involved in several Paper Rain photoshoots. #modellife).
