Although The Paper Rain Project is a relatively homegrown business, centering around our HQ in Marlborough, it has grown to become a platform for many artists, creators and makers world-wide. Our team is made up of co-founders, Indigo Greenlaw & Wills Rowe with our management team, Hannah Heslop & Ailie Suzuki. We're lucky enough to be in collaboration with around 30 artists across the globe, work with some pretty amazing Kiwi-owned companies in India and in 2016, hired our first non-seasonal staff.
We are stoked to introduce you to our small group of enthusiastic full-time crew (which is complimented each Summer by an amazing crew of pop up staff).

Indigo, Wills and Hannah

Indigo, Wills, and Hannah at The Paper Rain Project HQ.

Co-founder of The Paper Rain Project, Indigo spends most of her hours on the design, marketing, visual merchandising and communications for the business. She is super passionate about the project, art, ethics and the people they get to work with. Indigo grew up between the North-West of Scotland and Picton before studying and travelling (which she continues to do whenever money & time allows!) She is a lover of coffee, adventures, hiking, popcorn, the outdoors, singing and keeping as busy as possible.

Co-founder of The Paper Rain Project, Wills spends most of his time in the workshop shaping our recycled wine-barrel boards, laser etching longboards and most recently in our pop up stores around New Zealand. An ex-arborist and massage therapist, Wills is a big fan of learning new crafts and building the furniture for our store fit outs. Wills grew up on the cherry orchard in Spring Creek, Marlborough on which our HQ/Workshop is based. Wills' hobbies include potato eating, rock climbing, learning, moustache twiddling and tiny house research.

Our first and long standing full-timer and friend, Hannah is an ‘organiser of things’ here The Paper Rain Project. A super-asset (yes, that's a thing!) to our team with her skills in organization, admin, web and just about anything. She may be the one replying to your email, or scoping out the next Cause we're going to support.  Hannah is a Fine Arts Graduate (during which time she met co-founder, Indigo), you'll also see her collaborating with us on our t-shirt (Kete) and tote bag in store. Hannah is keen gardener, kombucha-keeper and yogi. She shares beloved Paper Rain cat (Miso) with Indigo and Wills. We are so lucky to have this girl on our team and fear the day we'd have to go without.

Introducing our newest team member, Ailie Suzuki. This lady is a conservation warrior, a zoologist & nature guide in the “Real World”. We stole her. Now, Ailie is our "Store Over-Lord". She is helping out with all sorts of things including blogs, cause info, customer service, dispatch, seasonal staff management, wholesale & (more) creative ideas. She’s a gem & we’re so happy to have her.  We share her with DOC and the Kiwis for Kiwi initiative. Snapped here in our fav, Kakī Stilt T-Shirt which she helped co-ordinate last year to support the endangered little waders themselves. Side note: Ailie, being half Japanese and extra enthusiastic, makes kick ass dumplings and has a raft of experience in just about anything. It'd be safe to say that she's also a super asset.
