Although The Paper Rain Project is a relatively homegrown business, centering around Founders, Indigo & Wills Rowe, it has grown to become a platform for many artists, creators & makers world-wide. We're lucky enough to be in collaboration with around 25 artists across the globe, work with some pretty amazing Kiwi-owned companies in India and in 2016, hired our first non-seasonal staff.
Co-founder of The Paper Rain Project, Wills spends most of his time in the workshop shaping our recycled wine-barrel boards, laser etching longboards or screen-printing our artist apparel. An ex-arborist and massage therapist, Wills is a big fan of learning new crafts and building the furniture for our store fit outs. Wills grew up on a cherry orchard in Spring Creek, Marlborough and now lives in Blenheim with Indigo, their dog, Raglan and cat, Miso.
Co-founder of The Paper Rain Project, Indigo spends most of her hours on the design, marketing, screen-printing and communications for the business. She is super passionate about the project, art, ethics and the people they get to work with. Indigo grew up between the North-West of Scotland and Picton before studying and travelling (which she continues to do whenever money & time allows!) She is a lover of coffee, adventures, the outdoors and keeping as busy as possible.
Our first official full-timer, Hannah is the new Assistant Manager of The Paper Rain Project. Born on the West Coast, NZ, Hannah is a Fine Arts Graduate (during which time she met co-founder, Indigo). Her own artwork involves methodically and obsessively producing geometric forms through drawing and, more recently, routing three-dimensional forms. You'll see her work on our 2015 'Organs' tee and our about-to-be-released 'Kete' t-shirt. Hannah is a super-asset (yes, that's a thing!) to our team with her skills in organising, admin, web and just about anything. She may be the one replying to your email, or scoping out the next Cause we're going to support. Oh, and she has a black belt in Kung Fu.
