'Interstellar Overdrive ' was hand-painted by Dunedin based artist Sean Duffell using acrylic paint and aerosols, on one of our in-house crafted macrocarpa art boards.

From Sean Duffell "This piece was created using only what colours I had available and using at least every one of those colours at least once. Painted solely outside in the morning sunlight over four days whilst jetlagged from 42 hours of being in planes and airports prior".

Dimensions: 190 x 760mm

  • This macrocarpa blonde beauty is our take on the retro skateboard shape but is designed specifically for wall hanging only.
  • Art board only (not rideable).

Note: Board will be shipped at the end of the ART/NATURE Group Art Show on 12 May.

Crafted from sustainably and locally grown Macrocarpa, this board was designed and made by The Paper Rain Project in Marlborough, New Zealand.

This board is a wall-hanging artwork and comes equipped with a fitting suitable for a standard picture hook or nail.

For each sustainably-grown tree felled, an average of 200 native trees are planted in it’s place. Thank you for helping to regenerate native forests in New Zealand.

TREES THAT COUNT - Working with New Zealanders to plant millions more native trees.

Trees That Count loves trees. Not just any old trees though: Aotearoa’s special native trees. They are a conservation charity bringing together business, community and everyday Kiwis with the vision of helping plant 200 million native trees across the country.

Their aim is to make it easy for Kiwis to make a difference and plant millions more native trees through their community marketplace. This marketplace matches funded and gifted trees with worthwhile planting groups around the country.

That means that for every Paper Rain board you go home with, a New Zealand native tree is planted through Trees That Count on your behalf!

“Planting native trees is one of the most powerful actions we can take to combat climate change, protect our beautiful landscapes, waterways and forests for future generations.”

On behalf of our beautiful Aotearoa: Thank you!

Sean Duffell is known for his large abstract murals inspired by NZ flora, fauna, insects and reptiles. His art can be found on walls and in public spaces all around Auckland and Wellington, such as ‘Monster Threads K Rd’ and Courtney Place Cinemas.

A believer in arts’ ability to activate public spaces and empower the surrounding community, Sean endeavours to “add a sense of vibrancy and contribute culturally to the areas that (he is) painting in, and that the members of these communities will take ownership and pride in the murals.”
